  Tam Coc - Hoa Lu or Phat Diem

Hoa Lu was the ancient capital of Vietnam during 10th century. The two kings ( Dinh & Le ) had chosen this place for its advantages in preventing enemies. In Hoa Lu, you will see two temples worship the two kings, those temples were first built in 15th century, during the war time, they were all destroyed, then the people live in this area rebuilt them in 17th cent with the same structure - imperial palace structure. You will also see the King Dinh‘s tomb on top of one mountain & when you are there, you can see the whole scenery of the ancient capital. Recently, the Vietnamese archaeologists has found the track of the palace that had been covered up by the war.

The small bamboo craft goes along a fresh stream in the rice field and around the mountains in a peaceful countryside with you on it, that is Tam Coc - " Ha Long Bay on the rice field". You go throughout the mountains on such boat by natural made tunnels.

The main pagoda, Perfume Pagoda, was placed inside a huge, mysterious cave which has earned the name as "The first cave under the Southern sky".  Perfume Pagoda is regarded as Vietnam’s Buddhist Center, located 60km from Hanoi, all access roads sweep through impressive limestone formations and lush rice fields. From the road, Tourists must take a rustic boat up the Yen stream to the Pagoda, a peaceful way to travel in anybody’s book, provided the boat owner is not trying to scam you for every penny you have.
